  iLan’ Ban’  - About Us

Trevor 'Bridges' Bridgewater is the bass player and band DJ. He is from the island of  St. Kitts and has played with bands in St. Kitts as well as the U.S. and British Virgin Islands. Bridges released his album, “Overdue”, in St. Kitts in 1988. He has toured the U.S. with reggae bands, The One Vibe, and Rising Lion, and was the bass player for the now defunct Afro-Caribbean band Afroblue. He co-wrote the title track of Afroblue's cd, “Pelesa”, and this song went on to win First Place in the World Music Category of the USA Songwriting Competition. He is also the bass player for the NYC-based, Caribbean jazz band Island Breeze, and is a participating musician in the ProjectIMPACT Exceptional Arts-In-Education program.

Arnaldo 'Naido' Vargas (keyboard/vocals) hails from the Dominican Republic. He plays quite an array of instruments including the accordion, pennywhistle, harmonica, as well as the bass. He has been playing for over 25 years and has toured with local reggae bands, such as Rising Lion, The One Vibe, and was a member of Afroblue. He is a founding member of the band Los Ciegos Del Barrio which has entertained audiences as far away as Russia and  Cuba.  

Clifton 'Chico' Anthony is from the island of Antigua. He has played with two of the most outstanding steel orchestras, Halcyon and Superfly, in Antigua. He worked in St. Maarten for a number of years as the arranger for Pott Steelers Steelband. He played with the Mood Steelband in Brooklyn, and has been a part of the band Pearl out of New Jersey. He is also a regular guest with the band 3D of Suffern, NY. He teaches pan at the United Moravian Church in Harlem and is the arranger for the church's youth steelband. He is currently working on his first solo recording.
